Wow, your post reads just like a short-term deja vu to me, since I just had this conversation with a friend yesterday evening about how annoying it is to receive voice mail that only says "hi, it's me, call me back, please" - I also think it is such a waste of time (unless there is a real message). Definiely email over voice mail! Let's take the opposite example - would we email someone to tell them: "hi, it's me, email me back, please."? Looks silly in writing, so maybe the remedy to useless voicemail is to send ths person a similarly maeningless email and ask them about their reaction :-)

I just rode a cab home from the City Museum. Fare was $9.75. My driver took a direct route. I'm a frequent cab rider and think the meters are a good thing. Though one time I swear my driver was driving slow and trying to get caught at every stoplight. I think giving directions is important (though I suppose I shouldn't have to). When I ride I look for drivers that have their windows up (that means the A/C is on) and drive newer cabs. Overall, I strongly prefer riding in a cab to driving AND parking in DC.

I completely agree and think this philosophy extends to almost everything in life. If the information you need and obtain is for more than your idle curiosity, I'd say you should always verify your sources - Wikipedia or otherwise.
